Hi All, my name is Alessia Nunziatini, I am Italian.

My story as a VA is very simple; I do this job because I love it, and I have a lot of passion for putting on it.

When I decided to change my job I remember I was thinking “now what can I do?” and luckily an inspiration arrived: and here we are, the VA was the answer. Cool, brilliant I thought. In fact starting my VA business allows me to combine my passion with my experience as a PA, that I gained in more than 15 years, as a PA in two companies, as a travel consultant and as a freelance PA.

An activity as a Self-employed allows me to manage my time and be my own boss.

I can meet my clients’ needs and solve their problems. After delivering my job, I am very happy if I see them satisfied. I am proud of this. I have saved my client’s time and most important they are relieved that someone else of their trust, helps with the job that can be delegated.

For launching my business I did too: marketing, created connections, built relationships, prepared the posts to publish on the blog, joined some groups, attended meetings, events and so on… Also, it was a pretty intensive time and still is today. Now I have my website in place (www.smartwise-virtualassistant.com) my youtube channel (SmartWise VA) and social media accounts as well.

When I was ready, I remember that my motto was: “I am patient and I have patience, and I am sure that my positive attitude can help me through this adventure” and this has, fortunately, been the case.

In fact, it is amazing for me to see this adventure become real day by day, more and more…

Thanks for letting me share my story with you.

  4. I am very interested in working as a VA as I need to be home more with my daughter. I am terrified to make the change and may be procrastinating due to fear. I think you have the right idea to just jump in. I think that’s what I need to do.

  5. Hello Alessia, my name is Micha and I have wanted to get into the Virtual Assistant careers but have no idea where to start. I see so many ads online for Virtual Assistants however you have to join and pay a fee so I am skeptical that these are a scam. Can you or anyone give me some pointers?

I have over 20 years as an Executive Assistant and would love to use it to begin working for myself.

    Thanks.

    1. Hi Micha,

nice to meet you. Starting as a VA can be scary but I am sure that your determination helps you to jump in. As far as I’m concerned I read a few VA books, I joined groups and forums, Facebook and Linkedin for instance. They can be beneficial.
About the Virtual Assistant paid ads, I never used them so far, because I am sceptical too. Although this depends on where the ad comes from, for example, some accredited Virtual Assistant association require an annual fee to join in and become a member, some of them have job ads as well.
I will try my first association next week “Women entrepreneur” and afterwards I will decide whether to join or not.
I hope that this is useful for you, and if you need to ask something else you can contact me.

      Good luck
      Alessia

  6. An outstanding share! I’ve just forwarded this onto a co-worker who has been conducting a little research on this.

And he in fact ordered me lunch because I discovered it
for him… lol. So allow me to reword this….
Thanks for the meal!! But yeah, thanks for spending time
to talk about this subject here on your blog.
